Venkateswara Ashtakam is an eight-stanza stotram praising Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala. It comes from the Brahmanda Purana, from the chapter on the greatness of the Venkata mountain, spoken in the course of a conversation between Brahma and the sage Narada — as the text's own closing colophon records. The eight verses are a garland of the lord's names, and the phalashruti that follows promises that one who recites it thrice daily is freed from sin, from fear of enemies and spirits, and from bondage of every kind.
