Dharmic Wisdom
The Living Wisdom of the Tradition
Dharmic wisdom is not a museum of old texts — it is a living body of verses, aphorisms, and treatises that have shaped how generations live, work, and reflect. At Abyasam, we bring together Subhashitams, scriptural quotes, and the classical Granthas they are drawn from, so wisdom you read becomes wisdom you can return to.
What We Offer
Subhashitam
Classical Sanskrit verses — pithy sayings of wisdom, ethics, and beauty — with translations and commentary in three languages.
Scriptural Quotes
Curated verses from Chanakya Niti, Yoga Sutra, Artha Shastra, and Manu Smriti — guiding principles for life, learning, and statecraft.
Classical Texts (Granthas)
The classical texts from which Subhashitams and scriptural quotes are drawn — spanning Vedic hymns, epic narratives, philosophical treatises, ethical anthologies, and devotional poetry.
Subhashitam
The Wisdom of Sanskrit Verses
Subhāṣitam (सुभाषितम्) means "well-spoken" — these are the pithy, polished verses of the Sanskrit tradition that distil wisdom on ethics, nature, statecraft, relationships, and the human condition into a few perfectly crafted lines.
Unlike lengthy treatises, a subhashitam is designed to be memorised and recalled — a portable gem of insight. Our collection brings these verses with IAST transliteration, Devanagari, Telugu script, and English meaning, making them accessible however you approach Sanskrit.
Weaving Wisdom into Everyday Life
Family & Personal Practice
Begin the day by reading one verse aloud with your family. Children absorb verses effortlessly — a couplet on gratitude or perseverance becomes a compass they carry for life. Write a verse on the family whiteboard each week, discuss its meaning at dinner, and let it shape decisions naturally.
The Corporate Space
Open a team meeting with a verse on collaboration or leadership — Saṅgacchadhvaṁ, saṁvadadhvaṁ ("Move together, speak together") invites a moment of reflection before the agenda begins. Pin a verse in your workspace as a reminder of values that outlast any quarterly target.
Post a verse with its transliteration and meaning as your story or caption. Ancient wisdom travels far in a single scroll — one well-chosen subhashitam can spark curiosity about Sanskrit in someone who has never encountered it before. Spread the tradition, one verse at a time.
